Looking to the future, I realised I would eventually be needing to buy a new PC. Especially since mine is now like six years old. i7-4790k and GTX980ti have been great but they’re starting to get left behind in terms of technology now. And something my up-to-date would definitely help with my 3D work.
So far I’ve managed to buy a network card, a new mouse and two PC cases. I’d been watching nice Corsair case for a while. It was at a price of around 230 quid and it dropped to around 180 when I decided to go for one. Then a week later, I was annoyed to find it had dropped again to 135. So I thought, f*ck it, I’ll just buy another one. Perhaps I could build two PCs? Once for 3D work/rendering. One for Music Production? Sounds like a good idea. It means I have a backup PC if one fails too. I originally had two PCs but one has broken on me and I haven’t been able to fix it. I bought a new power supply as it kept switching off abruptly. And it still didn’t work. So now I’m thinking it may be the motherboard is broken. So I bought an external HDD enclosure just to rescue files off the hard drives. The PC is over ten years old so it was probably on its way out.
So now I’m juts patiently waiting for the right time to buy a new PC. I think waiting for the next 40 series RTX cards is a good idea as they should be a lot more powerful than the current 30 series ones.
